Jan 21, 2008 I just downloaded a BEAUTIFUL repaint from AVSIM for the default Cessna 172. It makes me almost want to actually fly her -- if only I.

Description: Mega Airport Oslo V2. C-mexx Software The Visualizer. 0 is a highly realistic recreation of the airport with a high level of detail based on the plans for the 2017 expansion.

You can find out more on it here; Download the main file, download the INI sets, then install them. Read through the ReadMe. Then install the INI, start up TileProxy, and start up your fave sim, and you are good to go.:d Installation, about 10 min's, mainly because I was reading on it. Takes a while for it to download/convert/install the bitmaps from JPG's as you are flying, but once you fly an area, its saved to its own Cache. Then next time its faster. MY thanks to SrGalahad for the heads up on this awesome bit of revolutionary software. I am now inlove with FSX.

Hey Marlin, Yes, you can outfly the scenery. I did, but realise that its storing it on the first run, so when you get time, do a slow flight in a Cessna 172 with AP on, about 75% power, and as you fly along, you are mapping the area.

Then, next time you fly, its mapped already, no downloading. Have to have the system on though for it to use the cached scenery it has already installed. This also works in FS9 but isnt as sharp, and it doesnt function at night.

Daytime only. Note, I modified that link. Very nice, love the 3rd comparison airport. One question, are all the files temp or can you add autogen to them?

I would like to know this myself. You should be able to grab the cached tiles and use them as templates for your own work, and add the scenery to them as well. The cached scenery is stored in huge numbers of file folders that the program auto-generates as its downloading and converting the scenery. The ingenious bit of programming downloads huge JPG's, converts them to FS scenery bitmap format, and installed 'as you are flying' along.

Amazing technology. When you decide you dont want it anymore, or wish to see if there are aerial view updates, simply click the 'Clear Terrain Cache' icon and all scenery is cleared. I am setting here thinking how cool this is, and wondering why or how Aces could have photo scenery on FS. And it hit me, why couldnt Aces make a deal with the group(s) that provide aerial scenery to Yahoo, Google, and all the others (there are about 5 major groups that use this), and put this in FS. Why not come out with an upgrade for FSX called 'FSX Planet' Think about it.

Almsot the entire world, mapped. An upgrade of upgrades. Remember, a high detail scenery package addon has been done before by X-Plane.

Why not in FSX? Thanks for the HU, Bill:ernae. Only reservation that i'd have using this software is the following recommendation. 'Before starting anything you should disable your virus software and any active firewalls. I can't emphasize this enough. These often stop tiles from loading for many users' I've had several phonecalls in the last week alone with people having their PC's infected with the XPAntivirus2008 bug and on a PC that I fixed yesterday I found 3,500 virii:banghead::costumes:!!! Another option (one that i'm trying out at the moment) is creating your own Photoscenery using the Maps2bgl freeware program in association with Google Earth.

This program will 'grab' the google image tiles and create the photo scenery bgls. Only downside to this is that you cannot legally share your created scenery (Google image tiles can be downloaded for personal use only) and the created scenery can be rather large.though this isn't an issue if you've a relatively large HDD.bgl. This guy is always on Avism talking this Tile Proxy up.

Although it has some nice effects, for my eyes its not very real looking.I am just not in love with the colors.I've been in the air and never saw the ground look like that. Its just my stupid opinion.I told him the same. My sim is struggeling enough at the moment.I dare not ask more of it till it feels better about itself. I think it needs a head doctor to puzzle out its problems.LOL:costumes: But there are lots that use it and swear by it.I don't really know why I feel the way I do.:isadizzy. Hey guys, Thanks for the HU, Bill:ernae.

It took almost an hour to load it the first time. Navy Chief I have high speed cable internet, about the fastest, so I was able to have a faster download speed. Remember that terrain that is downloaded the first time is put in Cache. Free Hotmail Password Hack Programs there.
